Land Holders Being Urged to Lock in Property Maps

Queensland rural landowners are being urged to lock in their Property Map of Assessable Vegetation (PMAV).
There are concerns that restrictions are set to come into place with the Palaszczuk Government now planning to re-implement harsh limitations, which will dictate what rural landowners can and cannot do with vegetation on their land.
General President of AgForce, Grant Maudsley, states that the implementation of these restrictions will make it increasingly difficult to operate and it is important rural landholders take control of their property mapping.
Landholders have been able to obtain a PMAV map through the Department of Natural Resources for over a decade, however many fail to do so; having been under the impression that Government regulated vegetation mapping is accurate. However, this often contains errors and is not locked in for the future.
We, along with many other rural organisations, feel that the implementation of a PMAV map is a logical decision moving forward and have attached further information for your perusal.
