ALERT – Employer Obligations Update
If you pay your employees an annual salary, your legal obligations are about to change!
Employers need to be aware of some far-reaching changes to some of the modern Awards that come into play 1 March 2020
. These changes stem from the Fair Work Commission’s review of the Awards and focus on ensuring that an employee’s agreed annual salary/wage is not less than their minimum entitlement under the Award.
With a start date of 1 March 2020, this matter requires your urgent attention! You need to consider your employment agreements and check the determination of the annual wages that you are paying employees. You also need to prepare to implement the necessary record-keeping systems to ensure compliance with the legislation.
